When you apply for a position with us, you trust us with your personal data. We consider this relationship extremely important and promise you the following:
We process your personal data according to European data protection laws and other applicable privacy laws to protect your personal data from unauthorized access and ensure secure data transfers.
We are transparent about how we use your collected personal data.
We ensure that your personal data is secure with us. In the unlikely event of a data breach, we ensure that the leak is stopped as quickly as possible, and you are immediately notified.
If we need to disclose your personal data outside our organization, we explicitly describe this in our privacy statement. We do not share, sell, or provide your personal data to an external organization without your explicit consent.
About this Privacy Statement This privacy statement applies to all personal data processed by RJC when an applicant enters the application process or contacts us. We process your personal data primarily for the application process and to answer your questions. Your personal data is also used for screening when entering into an employment contract with RJC. A Declaration of No Objection (VGB) is required for all positions within RJC, and your personal data will be used for its application. In addition, a Schiphol pass is required for employment, and your personal data will be used for its application.
In this privacy statement, you will find more information about the personal data we collect and process and your rights.
1. Who we are We are the Regional Jet Center B.V., located at Westerkimweg 73, 1118 ZS Schiphol. RJC is part of the Air France-KLM Group. For more information, visit our website www.rjc.nl. RJC is responsible for the collection and use of your personal data in accordance with this privacy statement.
2. Types of personal data we process 2.1. General We may collect and process the following categories of personal data:
(A) Name and other identity information When you apply on the RJC job site, we register your name.
(B) Your contact details We register your phone number and email address.
(C) Our communication with you When you send us an email or contact us online or via social media, we register your messages. If you call us, our employees record your questions or complaints in our database.
(D) Information collected when using our websites and other digital media When you visit our websites or other digital services, we may record your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring website, and browsing behavior. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies.
2.2. Special categories of personal data For certain categories of personal data, such as data revealing race, ethnic origin, religious or philosophical beliefs, data concerning health, or criminal data, stricter rules apply under applicable privacy laws. We process these personal data when shared with RJC. Normally, RJC does not collect and process this category of personal data in the application process.
3. How we collect your data We collect the aforementioned categories of personal data as follows:
(A) Personal data provided by you When you apply via the RJC job site.
(B) Personal data received from other parties, such as, for example, employment agencies We receive your data from these parties to process your application(s). We receive your identification and contact details.
(C) When you use our website, we collect information through cookies and similar technologies RJC uses its own cookies and third-party cookies.
(D) We receive certain information from the government or government agencies for security within RJC This personal data is related to the KLM screening process and the application for a VGB.
4. Purposes for which we use your data 4.1. Primary purposes
(A) To provide our services in the application process We use the information described in 2.1 (A) to (C) to process your application. We use your contact details to inform you about the status of your application.
(B) To communicate with you We use your contact details to communicate with you about the application process, answer your questions, and handle your complaints.
(C) For our business operations or to comply with legal obligations We collect, use, and store your personal data for our business operations, such as administration, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and compliance with legal obligations.
4.2. Legal basis We can only process your personal data if we have a legal basis for doing so. In many cases, we need your personal data to receive and process your application, register your application, plan selection interviews, answer your questions, and conduct the screening. We process your data on the legal ground 'the processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of the data controller.' We always carefully weigh all interests: yours, those of others, and those of RJC. If you have given consent for the processing of your personal data (which you can withdraw at any time), we process your data based on that consent. If you refuse to provide the personal data needed for the execution of the application process or for compliance with a legal obligation, we may not be able to complete the application process. For example, we may have to stop your application process. If you have provided incomplete or incorrect data, we may be forced to deny you access to the application process or terminate the application process.
5. Disclosure to or exchange of data with third parties 5.1. General We may provide your personal data to third parties in the following cases:
(A) For facilitating the VGB application To handle this Declaration of No Objection application, we must exchange your personal data with the Dutch authorities, the AIVD.
(B) With an employment agency If you have worked as a flexible worker for RJC, we may contact the employment agency you are/were employed by to determine which contract form we can offer you. We will always ask for your permission in advance for this processing of your personal data.
(C) For supporting or additional services To provide our services, we use supporting or additional services from third parties, such as IT suppliers, social media providers, and marketing and screening agencies. All these third parties are obliged to adequately protect your personal data and process it only in accordance with our instructions. Within the Air France-KLM Group, centralized databases and systems are used for business operations. These central databases and systems may be hosted or managed by one of the group companies for the other group companies. In addition, certain operational functions for efficiency may be performed by one of the group companies for the other group companies. This means that our group companies may have access to your personal data in this context. Our group companies may only process your personal data when necessary for the relevant business function and in accordance with this privacy statement.
6. Retention We do not retain your personal data longer than necessary. The retention period depends on the purposes for which the data is processed and the applicable legal retention period. If you are rejected for the position you applied for, your application data will be kept for one year after the end of the application process.
7. International transfer of data RJC will not transfer the data collected from you in the application process outside the European Economic Area.
8. Your rights 8.1. By contacting us, you can exercise all rights granted to you under applicable privacy laws, including (A) the right to access your data, (B) the right to rectify your data, (C) the right to erase your data, (D) the right to restrict the processing of your data, (E) the right to object to processing.
(A) Right of access You may ask us if we process your personal data. If so, you can access this data in the form of a copy.
(B) Right to rectification You have the right to rectify your data if it is incorrect or incomplete. Upon request, we correct incorrect personal data and supplement incomplete personal data, taking into account the processing purposes; this may involve issuing an additional statement.
(C) Right to erasure You have the right to have your personal data erased. This means that we delete your data. The erasure of your personal data only takes place in certain cases, which are legally prescribed and stated in Article 17 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), for example, when your personal data is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was originally processed or when it has been processed unlawfully. Due to the way we have set up certain services, it may take some time before backups are deleted.
(D) Right to restriction of processing You have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data. This means that we suspend the processing of your data for a certain period. Circumstances that may lead to this include situations where the accuracy of your personal data is disputed, but we need some time to verify its (in)accuracy. This right does not mean that we are not allowed to continue storing your personal data.
(E) Right to object You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data. This means that you can ask us not to process your personal data anymore. This only applies if 'legitimate interests' (including profiling) form the legal basis for processing (see 4.3 'Legal basis' above). You can object at any time, free of charge, to direct marketing when your personal data is processed for this purpose. This includes profiling related to direct marketing. If you exercise this right, we will no longer process your personal data for these purposes.
8.2. Withdrawal of your consent You can withdraw your consent at any time by following the specific instructions related to the processing for which you have given consent. You can also contact us directly.
8.3. Refusal or restriction of rights There may be situations where we can refuse or restrict the rights described in 8.2. We carefully assess each case to determine whether such an exception applies. You will be notified of this. For example, we may refuse your request for access if it is necessary to protect the rights and freedoms of others, or we may refuse to delete your personal data if the processing of this data is necessary to comply with legal obligations. The right to data portability, for example, does not apply if the personal data has not been provided by you or if we do not process the data based on your consent or for the performance of a contract.

8.5. Questions, comments, or complaints If you have questions, comments, or complaints about this privacy statement, feel free to contact us. If your issue is not resolved to your satisfaction, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority. In the Netherlands, the Dutch Data Protection Authority in The Hague is responsible for overseeing compliance with privacy laws.
9. Update of this privacy statement 9.1. This privacy statement comes into effect on December 22, 2023. This privacy statement is subject to revision from time to time.
